On-Site Fire Station

Hernando County Airport features an on-site fire department to provide emergency and non-emergency services to the airport and airpark tenants. Hernando County Fire Station #14 is manned 24 hours a day. The department's primary equipment is comprised of an ALS (Advanced Life Support) Engine, a Brush Truck and an ARFF (Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting) Truck.

Hazmat exercise with National Guard at airport

The fire station provides vital crash fire/rescue services in the event of an emergency in addition to essential day-to-day prevention services in and around the airport.

Fire Station Personnel regularly train alongside the local National Guard Unit stationed at the airport along with Emergency Operations staff, Sheriff's Office personnel and county leadership in Hazmat exercises and disaster drills.
